Evidently, Diamond District’s In The Ruff is still rightfully making its rounds; as Canadian producer Marco Polo adds his own unique twist to Who I Be. Not only will the Who I Be Remix be featured on Mello Music Group’s Diamond District Remixes, it will also be included on Duck Down Record’s The Stupendous Adventures of Marco Polo. Ideally the coupling of Marco Polo’s progressive patented boom bap sound with that of District; which in the case of In The Ruff, successfully recaptured the nostalgia of EnYCee’s mid nineties boom bap rap seems like a very logical choice. The result is a more upbeat sound that employs the original ODB sample.
