Just A Thought

Instead of spending time showing viewers the rules of Cee-Lo, perhaps U-God could clarify why his ass was left off OBFCL II. Better yet, U-God could explain how he could drop an album [Dopium] which was meant to solidify his status as an individual artist, yet it was cluttered with features. Diamond District The PJ's (An El Michels Affair)

It seems as though El Michels Affair’s Enter the 37th Chamber is getting an unwarranted (it was good), yet welcomed makeover for the New Year. The original version featured the NYC collective’s instrumental renditions of the Wu-Tang Clan’s seminal debut, Enter the Wu Tang (36 Chambers) as well as other tracks from their mammoth-like catalogue. Enter the 38th Chamber, however, a collaborative project from the creative minds at URB.com, Fat Beats and Audible Treats features the likes of Diamond District, Del The Funky Homosapien, A-Plus, Kam Moye, Mr. Lif spewing rhymes over El Michels' signature funk and dusty soul. The first single features Diamond District spitting over El Michels interpretation of Raekwon’s The PJ’s.

Souls of Mischief - Proper Aim

Being that we live in a narcissistic society, it would be hard to picture a rap video in which the rappers aren’t actually featured in it. Well Souls of Mischief’s new video for Proper Aim, does just that; it conveys artist Steven Lopez painting what would be the cover art for their newest LP, Montezuma’s Revenge, which is available today, December 1st via Hiero Imperium Records. It would make sense that Souls would be the first to employ a non-conventional approach for video creation, being that they a part of the Hieroglyphics Crew (consensually considered the pioneers of the hip-hop independent market).
